This week: Sheila Maulana

Altiorem welcomes you to the next post within a regular series, where we profile the inspiring and generous people who are making Altiorem possible.

We are excited to introduce our contributor profile on the amazing Sheila Maulana!

Tell us a bit about yourself (uni, work, other interests, whatever you like!)?

My name is Sheila Vania Riany P. Maulana and I am from Indonesia. I recently graduated from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) majoring in Accounting and Finance. Now, I am pursuing a Master of Financial Analysis at UTS which is expected to finish next year. Currently, I am doing an internship at a tax company. However, in the future, I would like to work at a major finance company as it has been my passion since junior high.

What attracted you to Altiorem?

As I’ve said before finance has been my interest for a long time. Therefore, when I saw the volunteer opportunity, I didn’t want to miss it. Moreover, I really hope that my tiny contribution can help change finance towards sustainability as I realise that sustainability is very crucial, especially now.

What research summary did you?

I did a company profile on United Nations Global Compact and a summary of their research report called “Business: It’s time to act. Decent work, modern slavery and child labour”.

How have you found the experience? What did you learn?

I’ve been enjoying the experience so far. Not only have I learned more about sustainable finance as I was required to research the topic, but it was also an opportunity to practice my writing and voice my opinion.
